We are Americans, and we strive to be just.

To pursue justice, we must be respectful—and, when necessary, critical.

As we continue striving, we are also learning to love one another.

As Sheriff Andy Taylor said to Aunt Bee:
“Among folks that love each other, like we do, nothin’ can be best for us unless it’s best for you.”

Lessons in a Penny

 



The penny has retired from production, but its lessons remain.

A worn 1978-D penny once taught me about faith, liberty, perseverance, unity, small beginnings, human worth—and the stories hidden in everyday objects.

If one penny can hold so many stories, imagine what is waiting to be discovered in your own life.
